How many tears have they shed for each other! For themselves! How many tears have we shed for Max and Liz? Yes the price of love can sometimes be tears - but if it's true love - those tears of hurt will soon be replaced with tears of joy!

Liz-"Max, how is it possible that I could...could be the happiest I've ever been in my entire life and now the saddest all at one time?"
Max-"I think that's what being in love is."
Liz-"Yeah, I think so too."

Liz-"Yeah, it's like everything I see with my eyes tells me that he's cheating on me. But everything I felt with my heart tells me that he's not.."

Liz-"I'm not waiting any more. I'm going to do what Max would do for me."

Liz-"Max,you do have a destiny. You just heard it. I can't stand in the way of it."

Liz-"Do you know how hard it was for me to tell him that I didn't want to die for him? He's the only reason that I'm alive right now. You...you've got to come up with another plan. Please go to someone else. I can't do this anymore."

Max - "And I don't know what to do because I....I'm so scared."
(Max also was thinking, 'And Liz! My god, what have I done to her.')

Max crying in this scene requires no words! He cried for all he thought he'd lost, he cried for having doubted Liz, for having to do what was right instead of what he really wanted. Max was crying for all the pain he'd caused Liz and for all the pain he believed he would live with the rest of his life!
